Merrick, North Merrick, and South Merrick 11566

A Cultural Epicenter

Interesting fact: A list at the Merrick Public Library - one of two in town - shows 51 civic and cultural organizations, among them Kiwanis, Lions and Rotary Clubs, the Merrick Film Forum and the Merrick Symphony, making it home to one of the most densely populated arts and culture focused communities in area.

Merrick was left mostly untouched in 2012 by Hurricane Sandy, in comparison with some other South Shore towns. And though some homes were damaged, most were repaired quickly, and life in Merrick returned to normal relatively quickly. Contractors bought the few that weren’t, and new buildings mostly stand in their place today.

However, over the last decade, the Merrick school population has dropped sharply as students left home for college and their parents stayed in the community. But the decline seems to have leveled off - today, Road Ready services the cars of Merrick’s students and parents alike! The next time you’re in need of auto repair or vehicle maintenance in Merrick, Road Ready is your one-stop shop.
